About Pathankot District :
Pathankot is a small city of Punjab at Latitude 32° 16′ 40″ N (southern limit) to 32° 21′ 21″ N (northern limit) and Longitude 75° 31′ 15″ E (western limit) to 75° 46′ 56″ E (eastern limit)., officially declared as district on 27 July, 2011 by Government of Punjab. In past, it was a Tehsil of the District Gurdaspur. It is a meeting point of the three northern states Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Due to its ideal location, Pathankot serves as a travel hub for the three northerly states. It is the last city in Punjab on the national highway that connects Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India. Situated in the picturesque foothills of Kangra and Dalhousie, with the river Chakki flowing close by, the city is often used as a rest-stop before heading into the mountains of Jammu and Kashmir, Dalhousie, Chamba, Kangra, Dharamshala, Mcleodganj, Jwalaji, Chintpurni and deep into the Himalayas. Pathankot also serves as education hub for the nearby areas of Jammu & Kshmir and Himachal. Many students basically from rural areas of these states come to study here.
The Pathankot district is the northern most district of Punjab state. It falls in the Jalandhar division and is sandwitched between river Ravi and Beas. Pathankot has an average elevation of 332 metres (1,089 ft). It is a green town with the Ravi and Chakki rivers on either side. Shiwalik foothills kissing on the south and east and snow capped Himalayas in the back drop in north, Pathankot is last but not the least city of Punjab.

BARATH SAHIB
Barath Sahib is situated 13 Kilometer west of Pathankot city. The Gurudwara of Barath Sahib is associated with Baba SRI-CHAND, the elder son of Guru Nanak Dev ji, Baba Sri-Chand, the founder of udassi sect was born on Bhadhon 9, Samvat 1551 i.e. 1494 AD in Sultanpur Lodhi.

MUKESHWAR TEMPLE AT SHAHPUR KANDI.
This temple is situated on the bank of river Ravi. It is about eight kilometers north east of SHAHPUR KANDI. This temple is the earliest relics of antiquity. These are said to data back to the times of the PANDAVAS.
Stories are told of ARJUN’S and DRAUPADI’S visit to this place. Near the temple a long left in the rock a little way up the river is known ARJUNA’S CHULA.

About Pracheen Kali Mata Mandir: –
Pracheen Kali Mata Mandir is a famous old shrine of the Hindu religion, located in the city of Pathankot. The main deity of this temple is Goddess Kali Mata. Devotees worship the small idol of Kali Mata is in this temple. Many devotees visit this temple during Navrathri. Kali is one of the many forms of Shakti. Maha Kaali is the fiercest of all goddesses of Hinduism. The word Kali has its roots in the Sanskrit word “Kaal”, which means time. And nothing escapes from time. Goddess Kali is sometimes referred as the goddess of death. But actually Kali brings the death of the ego. Even in the scriptures, she has killed demons but not anyone else. Kali is also not associated with Yama (the Hindu God of Death).

Nurpur Fort In Pathankot :: Nurpur, Originally Known As The Dhameri, The Fort Was Named Nurpur By Jahangir, The Great Mughal Emperor, After His Favourite Wife, Nur Jahan. The Fort Was Constructed By Raja Basu Around 100 Years Back And Fell Into The Hands Of Jahangir Much Later. The Fort Is Around 66 Km From Dharamshala In The Kangra District Of Himachal Pradesh. This Fort Has A Lord Krishna Temple. This Temple Is Famous For The Lord Krishna Black Stone Murti. This Murti Was Gifted By Some Rajastani King To Nurpur City King.
About Shiva Temple Kathgarh:
the ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is located at a distance of about 25 km from the region of Pathankot. This temple is popular for the idols of Shiva and Parvati that is believed to have mystical properties. There is no clue as to how that happens. But truly it”s a magic of its own. To reach there one has to go to Indora (HP), which is 20 km away from Pathankot. Don”t miss this temple if you visit Pathankot.
About Nagni Temple: –
This ancient temple dedicated to the Goddess of snakes is located at a distance of about 30 to 35 km from the region of Pathankot in Himachal Pradesh state of India. On every Saturday in the month of August is a huge fair organized. Nagni Mata Temple is situated at a distance of 6 km from Nurpur. It is renowned among the tourists for its religious beliefs.An interesting fact about this temple is that the place where the idol of Naagni Maata is positioned, water comes out from there. The natives of the region also believe that snake bite can be cured by drinking that water and applying mud from the temple premises.
About Shani Dev Mandir
Shani Dev Mandir is a famous shrine of Hindu religion, located close to state bank of Patiala on Dalhousie road in the city of Pathankot, Punjab.Shani is a deva and son of Surya and his wife Chhaya, hence also known as Chayyaputra. He is the elder brother of Yama, the Hindu god of death, who in some scriptures corresponds to the deliverance of justice. Surya’s two sons Shani and Yama judge. Mukteshwar Temple: –
Mukteshwar Temple is situated on the bank of Ravi river, at about 20-22 km from Pathankot City. There are some caves which date to the time of the Mahabharata. According to a legend, the Pandavas stayed in those caves for a night during their “Agayatwas”. This temple is also known as Mukesran Mandir. A carnival or mela, called Mukesran da mela is held there each year in the month of April to mark Baisakhi.

Ranjit Sagar Dam Pathankot is the gateway that connects the state of Jammu and Kashmir to the rest of the country. It is ideally located and many travelers from nearby states pass through the city. The Ranjit Sagar Dam that is located near the city is one of the attractions and it is the highest gravity dam in the continent. Shahpur Kandi and Madhopur Headworks are some of the interesting places to see in the area. There are two mosques that are located in the town and these can be visited as well.
